A Look Back at Food Village in 2025 🎉

As 2025 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what has been a busy and rewarding year for Food Village. From expanding our reach in schools to continuing to invest in technology and service, this year marked another important chapter in our journey to deliver fresh, reliable school meals across Ireland.

Food Village Wrapped highlights some of the key moments that made 2025 such a significant year for the company. Here’s a look back at some of the moments that made 2025 such a memorable year for Food Village:

Bringing a Bit of Fun into Schools

One of the most talked about moments of the year was the Golden Ticket Challenge. By popping into schools and hiding golden tickets in lockers, Food Village brought a sense of fun and surprise directly to students. This was definitely one of our favourite activities of 2025!

Opening the Doors to Our New Longford Facility

One of the biggest milestones in Food Village’s journey happened in 2025 with the opening of our new facility in Longford.

This wasn’t just a new building, it was a major step forward in our mission to deliver fresh, hot and healthy meals to schools across Ireland. It also brought over 200 new jobs to the local area, strengthening Food Village’s roots in the community and creating real local impact.

A First for Food Village on St Patrick’s Day

This year also saw Food Village take part in the St Patrick’s Day parade in Longford for the very first time. Seeing the Food Village truck roll through the town was a proud moment and a reminder of how closely connected the company is to the local community.

Reaching More Schools, More Students

Throughout 2025, Food Village continued to grow — welcoming new schools and new students to the service. Every new connection represents another school community trusting Food Village to be part of their daily routine.

One highlight was the refurbishment of the canteen at St Muredach’s College in Ballina, Co. Mayo, where it was an honour to welcome Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary, to mark the official launch — a great example of Food Village working directly with schools to make a real difference.

Meeting Schools Face to Face at NAPD

Food Village was proud to exhibit at the NAPD Conference this year, connecting directly with school leaders from across the country.

These conversations matter. They help shape how the service evolves and ensure Food Village continues to support schools in a way that actually works day to day.

A Huge Win for Innovation

One of the standout moments of the year was Food Village being awarded Digital Technology Services Project of the Year.

This was a massive achievement for the team and a real recognition of the technology behind the service — from ordering and logistics to systems that make life easier for schools, parents and students. It was a proud moment and one that reflected years of work behind the scenes.

Looking Ahead

2025 gave us a lot to be proud of and even more to build on. As Food Village continues to grow, Food Village Wrapped will become a yearly moment to pause, reflect and share what’s been achieved along the way.

Thanks to every school, student and parent who was part of the journey this year. We’re excited to see what comes in 2026!
